Steve Bucknor is a former international cricket umpire from Jamaica who was known for his long and successful career in officiating cricket matches at the highest level. He was born on May 31, 1946, in Montego Bay, Jamaica.
Bucknor made his debut as a Test match umpire in 1989 and went on to establish himself as one of the most respected and experienced umpires in the game. He officiated in a total of 128 Test matches and 181 One Day Internationals (ODIs) during his career.
Bucknor was known for his calm and composed demeanor on the field, as well as his consistent and accurate decision-making. He was widely regarded as one of the best umpires of his time and was appointed to officiate in many high-profile matches, including multiple Cricket World Cup finals.
